Kick the Winter Blues in York- Roller-Skating

Did you know that you can still go roller-skating in York?  Roll 'R' Way is still still alive and doing very well- they are (or have just completed) refinishing their floors, so they are new and improved!  Roll 'R' Way is located at Roll 'R' Way Family Skating Center, 940  Ave. York, PA 17403.  Phone: 843-7500.  The admission prices I've listed do not include skate rentals but you are allowed to bring your own if you have them:
Tuesday- 10am-12pm ($3.50/person)
Thursday- 6:30-8:30pm ($3.50/person)
Friday- 7-10pm ($5/person)
Saturday- 1-5pm ($5/person) 
                   3-5pm ($3.50/person) 
                   8-11pm ($5/person)
Sunday- 1-5pm ($5/person or $10 family skate- max. 6 family members)
                7-9:30pm Hip Hop Urban Night/ Dollar Admission Night ($1/person)

Sunday is the best if you're looking for a value.  They also have special event skates, including Scout Night where boy and girl scouts can get in free (with their troop or by themselves) if they bring ID or wear their uniform, Skate the Date night and more.  You can even have your next birthday or other party there, and the prices are reasonable.  

York Little Theatre Open House

York Little Theatre is having an open house on Saturday March 31, 2012 from 10am-2pm.  There will be backstage tours, refreshments and activities for children.  

Other scheduled events include:

10:30am- Sample Glee Club Class

11:45am- Sample Improvisational Performance

1:00pm- Sneak Peak at Xanadu (a romantic comedy on roller skates)

There will also be a clothing and fabric sale.

Cats for a Cure Children's Carnival

On Saturday March 31, 2012 from 12-5pm families can visit the York Galleria Mall in East York for an indoor carnival sponsored by Northeastern High School’s Student Senate in conjunction with PSU and Four Diamonds to raise money for pediatric cancer research.  The carnival will be held on the lower level JC Penny court and will offer face-painting, carnival games, Easter egg hunt (3pm) and other fun activities. 

The Easter Bunny at the West Manchester Mall

The Easter Bunny will be coming to the West Manchester Mall in York from Saturday March 24, 2012 at 10am through April 7, 2012.  Kids of all ages are welcome to get their photo taken with the Easter Bunny and (domestic only) furry kids are also invited to use the Orange entrance to visit on Sunday March 25 and Sunday April 1 from 5-6pm.

Central Market Pumpkinpalooza

The Pumpkinpalooza at Central Market in York will be held on Saturday October 29, 2011 from 10am-2pm.  Kids are invited to dress up in costume and trick-or-treat with their families throughout Central Market. 
In addition, there will be pumpkin art creations by local artists at 10am, Martin Library will hold storytime in the upstairs mezzanine at Market at noon and more.  Bring your decorated or carved pumpkin when you arrive to help decorate the market!

Perrydell Farm Dairy Tours

Ever wanted to see a farm in action?  Families with children of any age can visit local family-owned and operated Perrydell Farm Dairy in York for an up-close and educational experience!
Self-guided tours are FREE and available during store hours.  Stop by between 2:30-5PM to see cows being milked, 3:30PM to see the calves being fed (if there are calves), or milk being bottled on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 7-9:30AM.  They even make their own ice cream!  (If they sound familiar but you've never been, it may be because they supply Brown's and other local markets!)  Call before you visit if you want to be sure the times are correct (if you have a preference).

Bring your cameras and be sure to wear appropriate footwear, since it's a real, working farm!!
