Halloween in the Park

Halloween in the Park at Codorus State Park in Hanover is back for another year!  On Friday October 25, 2013 and Saturday October 26, 2013 from 6-10PM each night, your family can visit the park for lots of fun Halloween activities for $10 per car.  Enter the park through Rt. 216 (the pool entrance) to participate in the fun.  Remember to bring your flashlights!

Trick-or-treating is from 6:00-8:30pm both nights.  The reserved campsites are set up and decorated and the kids will trick-or-treat at each site.  There is also a Halloween display and light show to enjoy.  Hayrides run from 6-10pm both nights.
Other activities at Halloween in the Park are The Turtle Tent, a chainsaw artist and blacksmith.  There will also be games and food vendors.  Mascots and dancing will entertain trick-or-treating families while they wait in line.  A program map is available online to see what's happening and where to find it.

Sorry, campers- the camping portion of this event has been booked full!  But feel free to contact them to be added to a waiting list in the event of a cancellation or for next season.

York County Libraries Present SplashFest Saturday July 10, 2010 at Codorus State Park

From 10am-2pm York County Libraries will be celebrating SplashFest at Codorus State Park.  This is a rain or shine event.  This FREE event will be held in the band shell and will include professional storytelling by Beth Rebert at 10:30am, children's performer Jim Rule at 12:30 and other awesome-looking performances.  In addition to the performers there will be free make & take crafts and an appearance by storybook character Lyle Lyle Crocodile.  There will be food vendors at the event but outside food is permitted.

It looks like it will be a fun and educational time for all ages, especially since it will be held at the beautiful Codorus State Park- if older children (10 and up) get bored there is so much to explore!

I went to the library website (you can click on the post title to go there) and saw some other events that are going on through York County Libraries and saw something about Creepy Crawly Worm Races.  It didn't say when and where those were taking place (It definitely didn't mention it in the SplashFest announcement) but I must find out!  I have a 5 year old daughter who LOVES creepy crawly things and she would love this!!

Has anyone ever been to this?  Saturday is my son's 9th birthday so it will be up to him whether we go or not but I'm hoping he'll be interested in at least checking it out.  If he doesn't like it we can always simply enjoy one of our favorite big parks.
