It's officially Fall and that means York is abundant with Autumn festivals! There are so many farms and markets in York County that offer family fun, like corn mazes, pumpkin painting, hay rides and much more for families with kids of all ages. Many of these activities are free or low-cost and that includes Stauffers of Kissel Hill's Fall Festival.
Stauffers of Kissel Hill has two York County locations: Dover, PA at 3949 Carlisle Rd. and East York at 4450 Lincoln Highway. Each location holds their Fall Festival for two weekends, on Saturday, September 28, 2013 and Saturday October 5, 2013.
Both locations are holding their festival from 10am-3pm. At the Dover Stauffers of Kissel Hill location the activities include scarecrow-building (this is the only paid activity), a straw maze, photo opportunities, tattoos, pumpkin painting and other free and fun activities. At the East York Stauffers of Kissel Hill location the activities include all of the same ones as the Dover location but they also offer a hay ride, which is a low-cost activity. There will also be other visitors at the East York location including the York County SPCA and both locations will be selling food.
This is a fun time for all! Check out our past visits (and here) to the Dover Stauffers of Kissel Hill to see some photos of previous SKH Fall Festivals.

Stauffers of Kissel Hill 2012 Fall Festival
LOOKING FOR THE 2013 STAUFFERS OF KISSEL HILL FALL FESTIVAL?
Every year Stauffers of Kissel Hill has a Fall Festival at both York-area locations. The year, the Stauffers 2012 Fall Festival will be held Saturday September 29, 2012-Sunday September 30, 2012 and Saturday October 6, 2012-Sunday October 7, 2012 from 10am-3pm each day.
The Stauffers of Kissel Hill Fall Festival offers mostly free Autumn activities for families with kids of all ages.
Saturday and Sunday activities at the Dover and East York locations include:
Build a scarecrow for a fee (it's around $10-15). Free straw maze, pumpkin bowling, corn box, face-painting, make and take pasta necklace, mini golf plus they have many areas perfect for a family photo, so be sure to bring your camera! This year the flier also mentions that there is FREE pumpkin painting. Prior years that we've visited it was free to paint, but you had to buy a pumpkin. This year it says pumpkins sponsored by Metro Bank. It's normally under $3 for a good-sized pumpkin so either way it's a good deal!

Stauffers of Kissel Hill 2010 Fall Festival
![]() | |
| Dover Location Events. Visit http://www.skh.com/garden/fallfest_york.jpg to see events at the East York location. |
This weekend, October 2 & 3 and next weekend, October 9 & 10 Stauffers of Kissel Hill is having their annual Fall Festival. On both Saturdays you can enjoy the festivities from 10-3 and on Sundays from 11-3.
There are tons of FREE activities to do all 4 days, including mini golf, pumpkin tic tac toe, pumpkin bowling, straw maze, face painting, Halloween hopscotch, pumpkin painting (with the purchase of a pumpkin- they are all very cheap!) and much more. You can also make a scarecrow, which costs around $10-15.
Parents, there are even some fun things for you, including a cooking demo and decorating ideas.
We visited the Dover location in 2009 and even though it was a rainy day the kids had a blast painting pumpkins, doing a scavenger hunt (I didn't see that event listed this year but it was a favorite of theirs), playing in the straw maze and mini golfing. We were even able to snap a few photos with their huge pumpkin display. Here are a few pictures of our fun and wet day last year:
We will definitely be attending this awesome and affordable family event again this year! Hope to see you there. :)
